About The Opportunity:

The Logistics Specialist supports the Logistics department by securing and arranging freight for inbound and outbound shipments for our warehouse and manufacturing sites across North America. 

 

 Critical Outcomes From the Job:

 Logistics Department:  

  • Manages shipments of incoming and outgoing products 
  • Co-ordinates traffic for shipments of finished goods to customers
  • Track and trace all critical shipments and give updates to CSR's 
  • Reviews claims against carriers for shipping losses or in transit damages
  • Liaisons between Nature's Path CSR's and FCL on fulfillment of orders and order confirmation
  • Decision making based on department KPI's
  • Help manage warehouse/freight vendors with Manager with onsite support 
  • Work with vendors and IFS to get KPI data and report on it weekly/monthly/quarterly
  • Actively looks for ways to reduce freight costs
  • Actively looks for ways to reduce warehouse costs
  • Create commercial invoices for all export shipments
  • Applies knowledge of regulatory procedures of FDA, Customs, Prior Notice requirements, and North American Freight

 Support the Supply Chain Department as a secondary resource for the following: 

  • Completing return for credit process for raw material PO's when required
  • Coordinating internal CO/PO transfers for Finished Goods and RM's between 3rd party warehouses
  • Closing PO's within IFS on Finished Goods receipts 
  • Processing purchase order receipts for co-packers (hot oatmeal, puffed cereal, crunchy granola bars, etc)

 

Success in this role will require: 

Education

  • Post-Secondary education, preferably in Supply Chain through PMAC or APICS

Experience

  • Experience using asset based and 3PL carriers/warehouses
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related role
  • Strong MS Office proficiency, particularly in Excel
  • Must know regulatory procedures of FDA, Customs, and Prior Notice requirements for food shipments
  • Experience with an integrated ERP system an asset
  • Experience in North American Freight
